Plastic waste comprising a PVC/PET mixt. is utilised by (a) depolymerising the PET, to form monomers and/or oligomers of PET, (b) reaction with compatible monomers, to give oligomers compatible with PVC, and opt. (c) polymerisation of the compatible oligomers with chain-extenders, to form a polyurethane (PU) compatible with PVC.
