The ladder has rungs which are pivoted at their ends and pivot and fold inside a half tube and inside the ladder. The rungs are locked after opening by a bracket located inside the half tube. The ladder is also locked in the open position by an independent safety stirrup which fits on a rung. The ladder is opened by tipping two hooks which hold it closed and separating the two parts by pulling to the left and right.
