Appts. to treat fabric piece-goods, esp. dyeing in a bath, has cylinders on horizontal axes for the fabric rolls (6,7), to be wound and unwound as the fabric is drawn through the dyeing bath. The fabric support rollers (10,13) are held against the fabric rolls (6,7) by a controlled and constant mechanical pressure. It is applied by at least one pneumatic piston unit (18) fed with a gas under pressure, with a linkage (14-17, 20, 21) at swing arms (8,11) which carry the support rollers (10,13).
