Safety mechanism for emergency line breaker

The safety mechanism for an emergency line breaker in machines and manufacturing systems prevents undesired switching off. The emergency line breaker (7) is surrounded by a circular projecting protective ring (2). The diameter of this ring (2) is such that it is possible to switch off the machine if desired by the fist or elbow. The protective ring (2) is preferably see-through and divided into two differently coloured areas (5,6) corresponding to the on and off states. The on and off states may be lit by different coloured lamps or can be indicated by an acoustic output.
