Use of metallothioneines (IA) and apothioneines (IB) against viral infections is new: (IA) and (IB) are esp. active when they are either coupled to polyethylene glycol (PEG) or to oxidised low density lipoprotein (LDL) or enveloped in liposomes. (I) are known e.g. from DE 3920826.
