Automatic stopping and starting of car engine

The patent concerns a device to start and stop a car engine automatically. The engine has a clutch, a manual gearbox, a starter, an accelerator pedal, sensors for crankshaft and gearbox input speed, a clutch pedal with a sensor for its position, a fuel pump and a memory unit connected to all of the above. It receives input from an engine temperature sensor. The clutch pedal sensor uses a potentiometer. The control unit activates or shuts down the fuel pump and starter, depending on the movement of the accelerator and clutch pedals. If neither pedal is touched, the fuel pump is switched off after three to five seconds.
