Compact low loss voltage regulator for e.g. car instrumentation

The DC supply voltage (UB2) is connected to one side of a switch which feeds its output to an LC filter providing the output voltage (UB4). The output signal is fed back to an integrated circuit controlling the switch according to the value of reference voltage (UB1). The switch is an N-channel MOSFET (T3) with its source (S) driven by charge pump (C1,C2,D1,D2) driven by the DC supply voltage (UB2) and operated by the action of the voltage regulator.
