The apparatus includes a frame (10) having a light transmitting part (11), a light emitting means (21) fixied at the lower portion of the light transmitting part (11), a shadow mask holder (30) having a number of rellers (33), a trasfer means (40) for transferring a shadow mask (1), and a light receiving means (50) fixed at the upper portion of the part (11). The transfer means includes a motor (41), a first belt (43), a second pulley (44), a first shaft (45) inserted and fixed into the pulley (44), first and second bearings (49,49'), third pulleys (46,46') inserted and fixed into the shaft (45), third pulleys (46",45"'), a second belt (47) and a third belt (48), thereby moving and testing the shadow mask.
