Electromagnetic braking device for rail vehicle, commercial vehicle, or aircraft

The braking device has a braking disc, acted on by an electromagnet (1) located on the inside of a vehicle wheel (2). The braking disc can be provided by the planar inside face of the wheel itself, by a separate brake disc, or by a brake disc which is fully integrated in the wheel rim. Pref. the braking device is provided for both wheels mounted on each axle, the latter supporting the electromagnets, with pulsed interruption of the current supplied to the electromagnets to provide anti-locking braking regulation.
