Admission of fuel vapour from fuel tank into car engine

A fuel injection control device for an IC engine has a container which intermittently collects fuel vapour in the tank. A controller for the container admits this accumulated vapour into the engine. There is a feedback circuit for the air/fuel ratio, using a mixture ratio sensor and a learning device for this ratio which corrects the feedback circuit so that a preset value is maintained. The controller for the container has a sensor to determine the fuel vapour plus air/fuel ratio and the vapour is only introduced to the engine when this ratio lies between 14 and 16 to 1.
