An integrated platform/clamping structure for use in combination with a frame straightening system (10); the structure including multiple clamp assemblies (20, 22, 24, 26) slidably attached to the platform (18) of the system for lateral movement relative to the platform. The clamp assemblies can be moved independently of one another until they are located underneath the automobile pinchweld (86). The clamp assemblies also have a mechanism, preferably a vertically aligned piston/cylinder system (52), which raise each clamp relative to the platform. Once the clamp touches the pinchweld, means, preferably a second, horizontally aligned piston/cylinder system (52), are provided to automatically fix the jaws (46) of the clamp over the pinchweld and lock. The system also has linear measurement gauges (128) underneath the platform and made a part of the system, with means (134, 136) to raise the gauges into an operable location adjacent the undercarriage of the car.
