<p>The invention relates to a cross-drive steering transmission for a tracked vehicle, in particular a protection device for such a steering transmission (7). Steering transmissions for tracked vehicles have the essential disadvantage that they can become overloaded under certain driving conditions as a result of operating error or abnormal driving resistance. To counteract this danger of overload the invention proposes that the input and output speeds of the steering transmission (7) and the transmission ratios be determined and compared with predetermined operating parameters. If slippage is detected, the steering transmission (7) is disengaged.</p> |
