Surface-protection system for freshly-printed sheets

The system is for sheets (1) deposited in succession in a stack (22), a coating (12) of solid particles of separating material being applied to each sheet. The coating is a mixture of degradable separating material, a watery carrier liquid, and an agent degrading the material on simultaneous contact with it and the liquid. The mixture can consist of plastics with micro-organisms degrading it. It can contain an ingredient of the polypeptide group, while the liquid can be a nutrient solution injected with bacteria. Alternatively a solvent for the separating material can be used.
