The support structure consists of uprights (1), beams, rails etc. and the glass panels (3, 4) have bores (5, 6), at least in corners, for fasteners securable to fittings (2) on the support structure. At least some panel bores (5) are countersunk for fastener retention. The sequential row of glass panels overlap on the edge side like roof tiles. The bores (6) in the overlapping region surround the fastener with play for compensation of length variations caused by bending and/or heat expansion. Spacer bushes or discs (8-10) are fitted in the overlapping sections and the fasteners pass through them.
