<p>A wet release bag in accordance with the invention comprises a generally tubular body (14) of water-insoluble plastics material, having a seam (18) joined by a co-extruded bead of water-soluble plastics material. On the inner side of the bag a flap (26) is provided which extends over the bead (18), being secured in place by a further layer (20) of water-soluble plastics material, to provide increased strength of the bag, and increased time for the bag to split in use. The bag is made on a machine comprising a first extruder (30) of the water-insoluble plastics material having an outlet (36) extending to an extrusion die (6), a second extruder (34) for the water-soluble plastics material having an outlet (39) extending to said extrusion die, the die defining an extrusion aperture through which molten plastics material is introduced from the outlet of the first and second extruders to produce a generally thin-walled, generally tubular body (14) of molten plastics material having the main body constituted by said water-insoluble plastics material and the seam constituted by said water-soluble plastics material.</p> |
