<p>PURPOSE:To remove looseness in meshing and prevent the rocking of a pad while make a timing belt slip to enable the rotation of a steering wheel when a third gear is unable to rotate, by energizing said timing belt which is meshed with the gear of a pad member by means of an energizing member. CONSTITUTION:The gear of a pad member 24 is meshed with a timing belt 36 which is meshed with the gear 21 of a fixed member and the rotation of the pad member 24 is stopped. And, when a steering wheel is rotated, a third gear 37 rolls on the timing belt 36 to interlock a steering shaft. Then, by energizing the timing belt 36 with a leaf spring 38, the looseness between the timing belt 36 and the gear 24 is removed, thereby, preventing the rocking of the steering pad. Further, when the rotation of the third gear 37 becomes hard due to dust, etc., by hardly moving the steering wheel, the leaf spring 38 is bent against its elasticity losing the tensile force with respect to the timing belt 36 and allows the third gear 37 to slip, enabling the rotation of the steering wheel.</p> |
