The present invention relates to a device for lighting the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, comprising an elongated light source arranged inside a casing. According to the invention, the device for lighting the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle includes: - two windows (13, 14) that are transparent to the light flux emitted by the source (11) and are separated from each other, including an upper window (13) via which light radiation is emitted along a generally horizontal direction, and a lower window (14) via which generally downward radiation is emitted, - a first directional light-flux recoverer (12) arranged between two first respective edges of the said windows, - a second directional light-flux recoverer (15, 16), arranged between the other two respective edges of the said windows, the said directional light-flux recoverers (12, 15, 16) having shapes which combine to guide the light flux emitted by the source towards the said transparent windows. <IMAGE> |
