Method for preparing a granulated base food material for sauces and soups from a starchy material and a fat, in which the fat is melted and the starchy material and the molten fat are mixed, the mixture is extruded in the form of sausages, the sausages are cooled in order to harden them and are subdivided into sections, and the sausage sections are reduced into granules by being projected through a grid, and apparatus for implementing the method.
