Venting systems for encapsulated cells

In a cell or battery of cells which are encapsulated in a synthetic resin having a safety vent to allow any gas, released under pressure, from a cell to vent safely to atmosphere but excluding external contaminants, the vent channel C is filled with an incompressible fluid e.g. grease and a sealing plug D to exclude outside contaminants, even if under pressure.
