The circuit adjusts the brightness of a view finder in a camcorder by using a function of a digital camera processing chip. The circuit includes a signal input stage (1) including a CCD, a CDS, and an A/D converter for acquiring digital image signal, a digital color processing unit (2) for adjusting level of brightness signal transmitted from the input stage, for calculating mean value of brightness signal by subframe units, a controller (3) for generating a brightness control signal according to mean value calculated by the digital color processing unit (2), and a view finder (4) whose brightness of back light is controlled by the control signal transmitted by the controller (3).
