PURPOSE:To provide a combustion apparatus which is equipped with a highly efficient radiant burner and which can be made compact as a whole. CONSTITUTION:At the intake for air for combustion two throttle sections one leading to an inner tube combustion part 4 having a heat reservoir 3a and the other leading to an outer tube combustion part 5 having a heat reservoir 3b, are formed with a partition member 7 in between, exhaust sections 8a, 8b having check valves 9a, 9b respectively communicates with respective throttle valves, the partition member has a switching valve 2 by which a switching is effected alternately between the two throttle sections. When combustion is effected at the inner tube combustion part 4, the switching valve 2 is turned down to the right so that air for combustion flows through the throttle section and enters the heat reservoirs 3a, 3b, the air for combustion is preheated and conveyed to the inner tube combustion part 4 to be burnt. Simultaneously, the working of the throttle section causes a negative pressure in the exhaust section 8a, 8b which communicates therewith and the check valve 9a, 9b of this exhaust section is closed. The process is reversed when the combustion is effected at the outer tube combustion part 5. These steps of combustion process are effected at intervals of, for example, ten seconds. |
