<p>PURPOSE:To provide a moving vector detector which can perform the accurate edge control without complicating its constitution. CONSTITUTION:A moving vector detecting device is provided with a moving vector detecting circuit 33 which contains plural arithmetic unit connected to each other to calculate the evaluation value (differential absolute value or differential square value) that is shown based on the difference between the pixel value of a reference block in the present frame and the pixel value of a candidate block in the precedent frame, a comparator 34 which compares the sums of evaluation value, and a valid pixel deciding circuit 32 which decides whether the pixel value of the candidate block is valid or not and adds a valid bit to each pixel. In such a constitution, the ANDs of valid bits are totaled in a block matching operation state. Thus the exceptional processing (edge control) is applied to an edge part of the screen to be retrieved. Namely, the evaluation value sum related to the candidate blocks including invalid pixels are excluded out of the subjects of the comparator 34.</p> |
