PREPARATION OF TONER COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: To provide a simple and cost effective process for direct production of black and color toner compsns. having an excellent pigment dispersion and narrow GSD. CONSTITUTION: The pigment dispersion contg. pigments, a cationic surfactant and an arbitrary charge control agent is produced. This dispersion is sheared together with a latex contg. a resin, an anionic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant. This sheared blend is heated at a temp. lower than the Tg of the resin to form flocs. These flocs are then heated at a temp. higher than the Tg of the resin.
