PURPOSE:To provide a power unit where the improvement of power factor and the improvement of higher harmonic wave distortion can be materialized and the circuit constitution is simple without a pause division of an input current. CONSTITUTION:A resonance circuit 2 composed of an inductor L1 and a capacitor C1 is connected to an AC power source 1. A feedback winding n, which feeds back the high frequency AC voltage of an inverter circuit 3, is connected in series to the capacitor C1. The full waves of power voltage, where the resonance voltage of the resonance circuit 2 is superposed, is rectified with a diode bridge DB, and it charges a smoothing capacitor C1. An inverter circuit 3 converts the DC power being supplied after being smoothed in a smoothing capacitor C0 into high frequency power, and this lights a discharge lamp 4 through a transformer T for output. The power voltage where resonance voltage is superposed is higher than the voltage across the smoothing capacitor C0, over the whole area of its one cycle. Accordingly, an input current can be passed to the roughly whole area of one cycle of the AC voltage of an AC power source 1. |
