PURPOSE:To provide a metal oxide-hydrogen secondary battery which can suppress the pulverization and deterioration of hydrogen storage alloy powder accompanying the advance of charge/discharge cycle and has a negative electrode containing a fixed quantity of the hydrogen storage alloy powder. CONSTITUTION:In a metal oxide-hydrogen secondary battery having a negative electrode 1, the negative electrode 1 is represented by a general formula LmNiwCoxMnyAlz (wherein Lm consists of at least one kind selected from rare earth elements including La, values of atomic ratios (w), (x), (y), (z) are 3.90<=w<=4.50, 0.38<=x<=0.50, 0.28<=y<=0.50, and 0.28<=z<=0.50, respectively, and the total value of the atomic ratios (w), (x), (y), (z) is 5.10<=w+x+y+z<=5.50), and contains a hydrogen storage alloy powder having an oxygen content of 500-150ppm. |
