PURPOSE:To obtain a ventilator which is simple for users to understand how to use it and easy and comfortable to use, by a method wherein a sound generating device is provided to generate signal sounds in response to operating signals instructing the ventilator main body to proceed to operation and the signal transmitting frequency is adjustable. CONSTITUTION:When a switch on an operating panel 20 of a main body or a tact switch on a remote control transmitter 9 is pressed, an operating signal is supplied to a sound generating device 18 and a transmitter generates a sound having a preset signal transmitting frequency for a specified period of time. As the signal transmitting frequency is adjustable, for example, within a range of 500Hz-2KHz, by a regulator, the sound generator 18 can generate a sound with a compass where the aged can catch it easily. Therefore, as the sound is in a compass where both youths and aged can catch it easily even if the sound level is relatively low, the response to manipulation of the switch can be easily confirmed.
