1,199,279. Ceiling or partition framework. J.J.V.C. DEVISME. 31 July, 1967 [4 Aug., 1966], No. 35131/67. Heading E1W. In an assembly of frames 2 which may be used support panels in the construction of a ceiling or partition, adjacent frames are connected by a keying member 3 which is of such a cross section that when inserted endwise into a pair of non circular cross sectioned grooves 4 which extend in end-to-end alignment across the corresponding adjacent frame sides, precludes all relative movement between the keying member and frames save in the direction of insertion, the keying member having retention means such as a removable pin 7 in a hole 6 at one end to prevent its withdrawal. The other end of the keying member has a head 5. The grooves may also accommodate orthogonally disposed reinforcing bars 9, 10, Fig. 7 (not shown). A retaining member 14 may be provided in interlocking engagment with the side of the frame to engage under the bar 9 and thereby retain a panel 13 of chosen thickness. The frames may be connected at an angle with a wedge shaped member located between adjacent sides, Fig. 10 (not shown). Fluid tight seals may be interposed between adjacent frames. The frames may contain two spaced panels and have holes in their sides to permit admission of heating or ventilating fluid. |
