DECOMPOSITION OF REINFORCING MATERIAL-CONTAINING URETHANE RESIN

PURPOSE:To rapidly and satisfactorily decompose a reinforcing material- containing urethane resin to monomers while satisfactorily keeping the uniform dispersibility of the reinforcing material so that the reinforcing material may be used for reproduction of the resin or as a raw material for another use by decomposing a waste of the urethane resin in the presence of a specified amount of a decomposing agent at a specified temperature for a specified time. CONSTITUTION:A waste of a urethane resin containing a uniformly dispersed reinforcing material such as a whisker or a glass fiber is decomposed to monomers by applying a decomposition treatment to 100 pts.wt. waste of the reinforcing material-containing urethane resin in the presence of 5 to 20 pts.wt. decomposing agent composed mainly of an alcohol such as an aliphatic glycol at 240 to 350 deg.C for 1 to 30min.
