摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To allow rapid and highly reliable determination of the touch point of a controlled clutch by providing an automatic clutch actuation controller. CONSTITUTION: A clutch actuation controller 60 preferably rapidly advances a clutch 20 to a point corresponding to a touch point when receiving an engagement signal from a transmission shift controller 33. The zero point of clutch engagement control is set at the touch point. Thereafter, clutch engagement is controlled by the control function of the clutch actuation controller 60. The touch point is determined by putting a transmission 30 in neutral and applying an input shaft brake 28. Conceptually, the clutch 20 is progressively engaged, starting at a fully disengaged condition, while an engine 10 is idling until the transmission input speed reaches a predetermined fraction of the engine idle speed. This degree of clutch engagement corresponding to the touch point transfers torque via the clutch 20 to overcome the slight braking torque of the input shaft brake 28.</p>
