PURPOSE:To realize the video telephone set in which talkers make communication while facing with each other in front by arranging a liquid crystal display device and an image pickup device at the same angle to the talkers. CONSTITUTION:When the use of the telephone set is started, a liquid crystal drive circuit 4 displays a picture received by a transmission reception circuit 5 by using dots other than a dot 7 corresponding to a hole 6 of a reflecting plate and the dot 7 corresponding to the hole of the reflecting plate is always kept in a 'through' state. A television camera 3 catches a light reflected from a talker through the hole 6 and the dot 7 corresponding to the hole 6 of the reflecting plate to form a picture and its picture signal is fed to the circuit 5. The circuit 5 sends the signal from the camera 3 to a communications line and receives the picture sent through the communications line and sends the pickup device and the liquid crystal panel 1 displaying the received picture can be place at the same angle in the same direction to the talkers thereby allowing the talkers to make communication while facing with each other in front. |
