A system for detecting and correcting simultaneous slipping of all the driving axles of an electrically propelled vehicle comprises a threshold device 7 which produces an output when the rate of change of current in the primary of a transformer 1 exceeds a predetermined value 8 and causes a reduction in power supplied to the motors. The motors M are D.C. machines fed from a generator G, the excitation ofwhicn is controlled at 16 in response to a comparison between an actual power signal Ud and a desired power signal Up. The transformer primary current is proportional to generator voltage Ug, or comprises the output of a tachogenerator, and slip correction is effected via a limiter 9 by opposing the desired power signal. |
