PURPOSE:To dispense with optical system components of amplifier of each step and simplify the entire device and readily adjust an optical axis by a method wherein, in a multistep amplifier, exciting laser beams are advanced so as to overlap from the reverse direction of laser beams to be amplified and emitted to a laser medium in the amplifier of the final step. CONSTITUTION:An excimer laser 1 to be used as an exciting laser, a dye laser oscillator 2, and a dye laser amplifier 3 of three-step amplification are provided. Excited beams 10 derived from the excimer laser 1 are reflected by a mirror 4 and a dichroic mirror 5 and pass through a lens 6a and are stopped down and received into a dye cell 3c as a third-step amplifier. By a dye solution flowing within the dye cell 3c, the exciting laser beams are adjusted so as to be absorbed by about 50%. Similarly, the beams are received into a dye cell 3b and a dye cell 3a and a transmitting excited power is about 12.5%. Next, the beams pass through a lens 6b to be parallel beams, which are received into the dye laser oscillator 2 to be the excited light source. |
