PURPOSE:To provide a superconducting device which has a closed-cycle cooling system and which can suppress a rise in the internal pressure of a cryostat even when a superconducting apparatus is quenched. CONSTITUTION:The superconducting device is provided with a cryostat 1, with supercritical helium gas which is housed inside the cryostat 1, with a superconducting coil 6 whose main part is formed of a superconducting material, whose superconducting transition temperature is higher than the temperature of the supercritical helium gas, and which is housed inside the cryostat 1 and with a refrigerator 7 by which the helium gas inside the cryostat 1 is held in a supercritical state. |
