PURPOSE:To realize an efficient process by registering a character at high speed related to a cache control system for accelerating the raster character development of an outline character in a printer and a display device. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with a character development cache table 1, a cache control table 2 and a retrieval code table 3 storing a storage address of cache control information in a retrieving address based on an alphabetic character address, and is constituted so that as for an output request character pattern, first of all, the storage address of the retrieving address set according to the alphabetic character address of the character pattern is referred to by the retrieval code table 3, and the alphabetic character address and a character size of the storage address are referred to by the cache control table 2, and when they match with the character pattern, a developing address is referred to, and the character pattern stored in the development destination address is controlled to be read from the character development cache table 1. |
