PURPOSE: To perform reaction in a homogeneous liquid phase, and eliminate use of an absorptive carrier by measuring an analyte in a sample liquid by reaction in several processes separated from each other in terms of time. CONSTITUTION: A sample liquid containing an analyte is added to a reaction vessel (containing at least two kinds of reagents which are easily soluble in the sample liquid and are spatially separated from each other), and the first reagent intended for a first reaction process is formed in a soluble shape of not delaying from the sample liquid. On the other hand, the second reagent intended for a second reaction process and another reagent are separated from each other by a desired, and are separated from the first reagent. Immediate contact with the sample liquid is protected by protective layers, and its protective layers are designed so that these enable delay contact between the sample liquid containing the analyte and a reagent arranged under the respective protective layers. In this way, reaction can be performed in a homogeneous liquid phase.
