PURPOSE:To provide a semiconducting ceramic with controlled mean particle diameter and maximum particle diameter, which has a excellent withstand voltage and specific resistivity at the room temperature by using particles of a raw material which is prepared by a wet reaction method and composed mainly of barium titanate containing niobium at a specific metallic component ratio. CONSTITUTION:The Nb/Ti atomic ratio and Ba/Ti atomic ratio of a semiconducting barium titanate porcelain fall within the extent surrounded by points A, B, C, and C or a, b, c, and d and the mean particle diameter of the porcelain is 1-2mum and, at the same time, the maximum gain diameter is <5mum. |
