The invention relates to the manufacture of cases (E) with lateral gussets (3, 4), which are produced from a sheath (16) and include, at one end, a closure flap (5) with an adhesive part (8), whilst the other end is closed by a transverse weld (12) and is provided, optionally, with a hanging hook (9). The initial sheath (16) is cut into portions (1) of specific length and one end of each portion of the sheath is cut obliquely (at 6, 7) at its two corners, so as to produce two flaps. One of the two flaps is removed by cutting transversely and the remaining flap is made adhesive on one face, in order to constitute the closure flap (5).
