PURPOSE:To provide a dial plate of a measuring instrument, etc., suitable for the a small quantity production and for the colorful display the pattern of characters and graphs. CONSTITUTION:Different color layers 2b and 2w are formed in lamination on the surface of a substrate 1 such as aluminum plate, a color layer 2w of an upper layer is partially eliminated by laser beams, and then a display pattern 3 where the lower-layer color layer 2b is exposed can be formed. When the upper color layer 2w is white and the lower color layer 2b is black, the display pattern 3 appears in black pattern on the white ground, thus manufacturing an easy-to-see dial plate. Also, by forming the lower color layer by painting it in a plurality of colors such as black and red, the display pattern 3 can be expressed colorfully, for example, by black and red. |
