PURPOSE:To temporarily store data without being affected by the abnormality of a medical picture file device in a system by providing a picture input means which inputs the compression picture data and records them in a recording means and a nonvolative storage means which stores the compression picture data to be sent to a picture input means. CONSTITUTION:When a release direction is issued by an operator at the time of endoscope test, the compression of the still picture data in picture compression devices 2a and 2b is performed by picture compression devices 2a and 2b and the compressed picture data are sent to a file server 6. When the file server 6 is not ready to accept data, a CPU 9 stores the compression picture data on a RAM 11 in flash memories 20 and 21. When the file server 6 is judged to be ready to accept data, the CPU sends the compression picture data to the file server 6. Thus, the data can be surely stored without being affected by the abnormality of the device in the system.
