The procedure consists of covering the tank (1) with a heap (3) of a particulate material, such as sand, containing continuous filaments or fibres e.g. of polyester. The particulate material and filaments are fed simultaneously over the tank by conveyors to cover the tank and its supporting frame to a depth of at least one metre, forming an outer surface which meets the ground at an angle of at least 60 degrees to the horizontal. The tank can be mounted on supporting legs (2) or a base with a concave surface, and its lower part has an outlet pipe (8) enclosed in a concrete base (7). |
