PURPOSE:To prevent the transmission of an error and to suppress the deterioration in picture quality when an error occurring at the last copying time and not corrected remains by controlling the error correction at a copying time thereafter based on a graph showing the fact. CONSTITUTION:A video input terminal 4 and a video output terminal 6 are used for an input and an output of an analog video signal respectively. Then, an editing input terminal 8 and an editing output terminal 10 are used for the input and the output of the digital data respectively. Then, the analog video signal received by the video input terminal 4 is converted to a digital signal by a source encoder 12 to be compressed, and the compressed video data are outputted. Further, the source encoder 12 outputs a flag showing the presence of the error together with the compressed data. These flags are initialized by the encoder 12. Now, when the error occurring at the last copying time and not corrected remains, based on the flag showing the fact, the error correction at the copying time thereafter is controlled. |
