Compounds of formula <FORM:1118665/C2/1> wherein n is 0 or 1, R1 and R2 are H, C1- 5 alkyl, C1- 6 alkanoyl, or alkoxyalkyl, or together form CH2, Z is CH2 or CO and X is -C(CH3)(NO2) -CO2R3 (R3 = C1- 5 alkyl), are prepared by reacting the halide of the above formula (X = Br or Cl) with HC(CH3)(NO2)CO2R3. The products may be reduced to corresponding amino-esters of said formula, wherein Z is CH2 or CHOH, and X is -C(CH3)(NH2)CO2R3. |
