A toothbrush which comprises in its head means of dispensing the toothpaste, a cavity for holding the toothpaste, a base plate for the bristles, and the bristles themselves, holes being arranged in the base plate which allow the passage of toothpaste to the bristles, and means for coupling to the handle via which the toothpaste-holding cavity can be filled from a hollow handle equipped with means for dispensing and metering the toothpaste.
