EXPANSION/CONTRACTION MECHANISM FOR ROD-SHAPED BODY AND CUDGEL USING SAME

An expansion/contraction mechanism and a cudgel using the same adapted for contraction at the time of storage and carrying and for expansion when in use. The mechanism is formed into a rigid rod-shaped body when extended, and can be contracted with a simple operation when it is to be stored. The mechanism comprises a first rod-shaped body having a suitable cross-sectional shape, and a second rod-shaped body received in the first rod-shaped body and having a latch near the rear end thereof which can project outside the rod-shaped body, and a third rod-shaped body received in the second rod-shaped body and having a guide portion near the rear end thereof which is adapted to engage with the latch of the second rod-shaped body to receive the latch in the rod-shaped body.
