Continuous heat treatment of steel wire

The method for continuous heat treatment of steel wire involves (a) rapid heating of the wire up to a temperature in the austenite range, at between 85 and 100 deg C/s; (b) maintaining the temperature in the austenite range for 10-60 s; (c) quenching of the wire to room temp. at greater than 80 deg C/s; (d) rapid heating of the wire to a tempering temperature at 85-95 deg C/s; (e) maintenance tempering temperature for 20-120 s; and (f) cooling the wire at greater than 50 deg C/s normally used with water cooling.
