The invention relates to methods for manufacturing covering panels such as synthetic parquet units. The fundamental feature of the invention lies in the fact that before the covering layer is bonded to the base, a design is put on the covering units with the aid of narrowly directed cuts right through the material with a view to enabling combination of the design without any need for further adjustement of the covering units.
