The invention relates to a hospital bed which has the effect of virtually eliminating the heavy lifting, heaving and pulling work by nursing staff. The bed also has the effect of increasing the comfort of the patient, since the surface on which he is lying can be massaged and he has a considerable freedom to act, often without needing the help of the nursing staff. Also, the shape of the frame makes it easier to clean the floor and, if the main supporting wheels are positioned beneath the central bar, it is easier for the bed to be moved by one person instead of two. Also, it is not necessary to touch the patient when he is being moved into a new bed.
