The security apparatus has contact elements (1, 2), each having an input port (3, 5) and an output port (4, 6) arranged in a circuit which is activated in the quiescent current mode. A switch signal is generated when the contact elements contact each other. The output port of the first contact element is connected to the input port of the second contact element via a diode (7). The output port of the second contact element is connected to the input port of an alternating current detector (8). An alternating voltage is applied to the output port of the alternating current detector and to the input port of the first contact element so that in the quiescent state an direct current (16) flows through the alternating current detector.
