Granulating machine with one toothed roll inside another

A granulating machine has a first hollow rotating roll (1) and a second pressure roll (3) inside the first resting on its lower inside surface. The inner surface of the first roll and the outer surface of the second roll have axially extending intermeshing teeth (4, 5). Between the teeth of the first roll are perforations (2) through which the granulated material falls onto a conveyor belt (11), esp. a cooling belt, underneath the machine. The first roll is made up of a number of rings placed axially end to end and fixed in a circumferential direction w.r.t. one another. The rings are held together by the axial force of compression springs acting on the outermost rings. The first roll is supported on and driven by two bearing rollers (24).
