Ground-working machine provided with a frame part, on which a number of ground-working components are arranged in a row which extends transversely with respect to the direction of forwards movement of the machine, which ground-working components can be driven about upwardly directed axles and are provided with at least one working element which is directed downwards on a support extending transversely with respect to the axis of rotation; an elongate protective element, in the form of a bar, is arranged at the level of and in front of the supports, the height of which protective element can be adjusted by means of bearing arms on supports which extend vertically and are attached to the frame part, while springs and guides are provided, so that the protective element, during operation, has a limited degree of movement in the direction of the frame part, the bearing arms which extend vertically being coupled to a lever, by means of which the protective element can be adjusted in the vertical direction, while the guides are designed in such a manner that they are able to support the protective element in the various positions. <IMAGE>
